Watercourse Hart Park Project

Location: Wauwatosa, WI
Owner: Milwaukee Metro Sewerage District
Completed: September 2008

The Watercourse Project in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin was performed along the Menomonee River to help prevent flooding.  The project involved mass grading, river bank revetment, both earthen and concrete levee wall construction, and installation of armor and quarry stone.  The project also involved extensive storm sewer system upgrades including 3,778 lineal feet of 8″ to 20″ water main; 17,765 lineal feet of 12″ to 96″ storm sewer with valves, hydrants, manholes and endwalls.  The project required the crossing of the Canadian Pacific Railroad track 4 times. Two crossings were tunneled with a 90” LOVAT TBM and the other two by driving a 70” casing in place with a Vermeer Hammer.
